Officers from Sapulpa and Kellyville FFA chapter participated in the 2009 Oklahoma FFA Chapter Officer Leadership Training (COLT) conference, Sept. 15, at the SpiritBank Event Center in Tulsa.

The eight state FFA officers planned and conducted this year’s conference based on the theme Reflections: What do you see? The six elected officers from each of the 84 high school FFA chapters located in the northeast district attended leadership training designed to prepare them to lead their local FFA members, as well as provide positive direction for their chapters, schools and communities.

Josh Brecheen, Coalgate, was the keynote speaker for the conference. Brecheen once wore the traditional FFA blue and gold jacket and served as state FFA president in 1998-99. He is currently a field representative for United States Senator Tom Coburn.

“This year, the conference is designed to encourage local chapter officers to lead and serve with integrity,” said Amy Peel, state FFA president. “We hope to inspire them to make a positive difference in their local chapters.”
