Kellyville Ponies Honor Heroes of the Past

Kellyville FFA members hosted their annual Veteran’s Day assembly Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Kellyville High School.

Of the many local veterans in attendance, there were two special and distinguished guest speakers, Gunnery Sgt. Richard Bo Johnson and Colonel Gary L. Lumpkin, both of the United States Marine Corps.

Lumpkin is also the presiding judge of theOklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals.

Each spoke about their experiences in Vietnam and what Veteran’s Day means to them.

Students honored all the veterans in attendance with a standing ovation as their names were read.

Veterans in attendance were recognized for their service in World War II, the Korean Conflict, Vietnam War, Gulf War, and the war in Iraq:
