Christian claims Silver at State Meet

Austin Christian narrowly missed winning the gold medal at the Class 3A cross country state championship race on Saturday in Shawnee. Lucien Carriveau of Riverside High School edged out Christian for first place by 19 seconds.
Christian, who finished the 5-K race at 16:43, added another impressive performance to his 2008 season. He also led the Ponies to an overall 10th place finish.
Kody Davis was second on the team — and 38th overall — with a time of 18:42. Blade Rossman, Dakota Clapton and Tyler Smith rounded out the rest of the runners for KHS.
Rossman (19:44), Clapton (20:59), Smith (22:22) finished 68th, 90th, 103rd respectively.
The Kellyville Lady Ponies had one representative at the state meet on Saturday.
Jordan Tankersly finished 85th overall with a time of 15:03.
